First-Ever Worcester Off-Leash Dog Park Opening

WORCESTER, MA—Advocates have been fighting for this one for a long time, and now there's an event to officially celebrate: the city's first-ever off-leash dog park.

The Vernon Hill Dog Park opens on Monday, Aug. 21, at 4 p.m. with a ribbon cutting at 144 Providence St. The dog park is located next to the Dennis F. Shine Memorial pool.

Worcester is opening three dog parks this year. Following the park at Vernon Hill are parks at Beaver Brook Park and downtown at Green Street and Francis McGrath Boulevard.
