Freezing Rain May Glaze Worcester To Framingham: Forecast
An area between Milford, Framingham and most points north and west could get about 1/1oth of an inch of ice overnight.

WORCESTER, MA — A wide area from Framingham west could see a glazing of ice overnight as freezing rain returns to the area, according to the National Weather Service.
A winter weather advisory will be in effect from 7 p.m. Monday until 10 a.m. Tuesday. The forecast calls for a "glazing" of ice — about 1/1oth of an inch — roughly west of Route 128 and northwest of the Norfolk County line.
"Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning commute," the weather service said in the advisory.
According to the forecast, snow could begin falling in the Worcester area around 10 p.m. Monday, with a change to freezing rain by 2 a.m. Temperatures will be in the mid-20s overnight, but will warm to a high of 43 by midday Tuesday.
Precipitation will likely return several times this week. The forecast calls for a mix of rain and snow beginning on Wednesday around noon. There's another chance of rain and snow very early on Friday, and then rain on New Year's Day, according to forecasts.
But the region is well below normal snow levels. On average, the Worcester area typically sees close to 16 inches of snow by Dec. 26 (8 inches in Boston). This year the region is sitting at just 3.8 inches with almost no visible snow on the ground as of Monday.
