Funeral Set For Holy Cross Rower As Students Return To Campus
A wake for Grace Rett. 20, will be held Tuesday, the same day Holy Cross students return to class following last week's deadly van crash.

WORCESTER, MA — Holy Cross students will start a new semester on Tuesday following a deadly van crash in Florida that killed one of the school's rowers, and injured many more students. A funeral for rower Grace Rett, 20, is planned for Wednesday in her hometown of Uxbridge.
As of Monday evening, four Holy Cross rowers and a rowing coach were still hospitalized in Florida. Junior Paige Cohen, who is from Atlanta, was released from the hospital over the weekend. Maegan Moriarty, a senior from Old Lyme, Conn., was released on Friday.
"We ask for continued prayers for the four Holy Cross students, our rowing coach, and the driver of the truck as they continue to recover in the hospital," the school said in a statement over the weekend.

The Holy Cross rowers were traveling last Wednesday morning to a training practice in Vero Beach on Wednesday when their van collided with a pickup truck at a busy intersection. Rett died at the scene.
Late last week, Vero Beach police wrapped utility poles near the bridge where the crash happened as a tribute to the team and Rett.

Most Holy Cross students returned to school over the weekend. Classes resume Tuesday, the same day as Rett's wake.
There will be calling hours for Rett on Tuesday between 2 and 7 p.m. at St. Mary's Church in Uxbridge. A funeral will be held at that same location for her on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Holy Cross is advising students having difficulty with the aftermath of the accident to contact the school's counseling center. Counselors are available weekdays during normal business hours, and an after-hours crisis counselor can be reached at 508-793-3363.
