Worcester County Residents Invited To Return Firearms At Gun Buyback Event
Amnesty will be granted during the event, so no registration or personal information is required.
WORCESTER, MA — Worcester County residents are being invited to safely return unwanted firearms on Saturday at the annual Guns 2 Gardens Gun Buyback Program.
The program turns collected guns into tools for community gardens. Local leaders, including Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr., and Worcester Police Department Deputy Police Chief Edward McGinn, urged residents to take part in a news conference on Thursday.
Residents who turn in operable firearms can get gift cards. It’s $50 for rifles, $100 for pistols, and $150 for automatic or semi-automatic guns. All guns must be unloaded and contained in a bag or wrapping.
Amnesty will also be granted during the event, so no registration or personal information is required.
Guns will be collected at the following sites and times on Saturday:
- Worcester Police Department: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- City Welding & Fabrication, 10 Ararat St, Worcester: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Fitchburg Police Department: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Milford Police Department: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Northboro Police Department: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Charlton Police Department: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
