Heroin, Coke, Thousands in Cash Seized by Vice Squad in Worcester Investigation

A Lowell man was staying in Worcester, where he allegedly was selling heroin and cocaine.

WORCESTER, MA — A Lowell man who fled to Worcester, where he was allegedly selling cocaine and heroin, is facing several charges after an investigation led by the Worcester Police Department Vice Squad.

On Tuesday, March 29, the Vice Squad searched 5 South St., Apt. 3, in Worcester, the search the result of an investigation that had been conducted over a period of time. Hector Delvalle, 46, had an outstanding warrant for distribution of heroin from Lowell, and was the target of the search. Police said Delvalle had fled Lowell, and was staying at the South Street address.

The Vice Squad set up surveillance around 7:30 p.m. near the apartment, and about 45 later saw a black jeep pull in the driveway. Two men got out of the jeep and go into the apartment, staying a short time and then leaving.

Police found that the supplier would drive to the South Street apartment from Lowell or Lawrence, drop off cocaine and heroin, and pick up the cash, occurring every evening.

The Gang Unit pulled the Jeep over at Penn Ave. and Aetna St., with the driver and passenger giving conflicting information as to why they were in Worcester. One was from Lawrence and the other from Methuen.

Officers spotted large amounts of cash between the seats, and the legs of the passenger. Officers seized $9,025 in cash, and both men denied owning it. There were no drugs in the car.

Around 8:30 p.m., officers went into the South Street apartment, finding Delvalle and two others inside. Officers found cocaine on Delvalle, and cocaine and heroin in the apartment, along with $959 in cash, cell phones, a digital scale and other drug paraphernalia.

Delvalle, whose official address is 417 Westford St., Lowell, was arrested and charged with the outstanding warrant, and Possession of Class A Substance with the Intent to Distribute (second or subsequent offense), 2 Counts of a Drug Violation within 1,000 ft. of a School, and Possession of Class B Substance with the Intent to Distribute (2nd or subsequent offense).

Delvalle was arraigned yesterday at the Worcester County District Courthouse.
