I-290 Closures In Worcester Coming This Week: MassDOT
Ramps and lanes will be closed intermittently through the end of the week along I-290.
WORCESTER, MA — I-290 drivers should prepare for lane and exit ramp closures this week during paving operations.
There will be intermittent closures during overnight hours between exit 17 at Vernon Street and exit 22 at the I-190 interchange each night through Friday. The closures will happen during overnight hours from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
MassDOT is cautioning drives to expect slowdowns and detours during the work.
MassDOT is in the midst of a large repaving project along I-290 and I-190 that should be complete by November. The $9 million project is bringing fresh pavement to about four miles of highway between Shrewsbury Street and Lake Quinsigamond, according to MassDOT.
