WORCESTER, MA — MassDOT will close two I-290 exit ramps this week for construction work, forcing some drivers on a detour to get to I-190 and the Burncoat area.

Beginning at 10 p.m. Thursday, MassDOT will close eastbound I-290 exists 22 and 23, which lead to I-190 northbound and Burncoat Street. The closures will end by about 5 a.m. on Friday, according to the transportation agency.

Drivers will be directed to the Plantation Street exit near Coal Mine Brook to take the westbound lanes back toward Burncoat Street and I-190.

MassDOT said crews will be performing "routine construction operations" during the closure.
