I-290 Ramps To Mass Pike Closing During Bridge Work: MassDOT

The closures will take place over two nights this week, with detours around the Mass Pike interchange.

AUBURN, MA — The region's favorite bridge construction project returns this week with exit closures at the I-90, I-290 interchange in Auburn.

The ramp closures will take place on Wednesday and Thursday nights from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next day. The work will wrap up by 5 a.m. Friday. Here's what to expect, according to MassDOT:

  • When the I-290 westbound off-ramp to I-90 (exit 12A) is closed, traffic will be directed to take exit 12B and follow the detour signs for Route 12 southbound to access I-90 eastbound and westbound.
  • When the I-90 ramp to I-395 southbound and I-290 eastbound is closed, traffic will be directed to follow the detour signage to Route 12 southbound to access both I-395 southbound and I-290 eastbound.

There will be signs in place at the interchange to guide drivers during the closures.
