WORCESTER, MA — A major downtown Worcester I-290 exit will be closed for three nights this week during utility work, according to MassDOT.

The Shrewsbury Street exit closures along eastbound I-290 began Monday night and will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. The ramp will be closed between about 9 p.m. and 5 p.m. each night.

A detour will take drivers to exit 20 at East Central Street near downtown Worcester to access Shrewsbury Street.
