ICYMI: Nicolas Cage Likely Not Buying a Home in Worcester, Despite Story That Says So
While there is no proof that he is not moving to Worcester, all signs point to "hoax post."
WORCESTER, MA — It's a fun thought: Nicolas Cage hanging around at the Broadway Diner, or walking down Main South, or waiting in the Popeye's drive-thru line.
It's one of the latest in a string of "this celebrity is moving to your small town" articles that are seemingly hoaxes.
"In a huge surprise to everyone in Los Angeles, Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage reveals in a new interview that he is moving to the Worcester, Massachusetts, area," it says on Daily News 11. "He tells the magazine that he is 'tired of the L.A. lifestyle' and is looking for a big change in life."

He is quoted as saying, “I’m just tired of the L.A. lifestyle and I feel like, at this point in my life, I’d rather just live in a place full of real, genuine people. I’ve been to Worcester a couple of times over the years and the people there are real… they’re genuine, and yeah every community has its problems but the people there are good, decent people and they care about their community. Those are the things I find most important in deciding where to live."
The Local News and Lopez Reports had Cage moving to Rochester, NY, in March, as well as Lady Gaga settling in to Utitca.

In early March, Snopes dug into these multiple reports of similar stories that were indicating that the likes of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Lady Gaga and Matthew McConaughey, were moving to small, rural towns and cities across the country. The articles were largely interchangeable, with the stars "revealing" that they were looking to trade in the bit city famous lifestyle for a more down to Earth existence.
If you do see Cage around Worcester, though, please let us know: we'd like to talk to him here at Worcester Patch.
