MA Man Killed In Wrong-Way Route 146 Collision Near RI Line
A Douglas man and a Worcester man collided in the northbound lanes of the highway in Uxbridge.

UXBRIDGE, MA — A Douglas man was killed late Friday night in a wrong-way collision along Route 146 just short of the Rhode Island border, according to state police.
The collision happened near 10:30 p.m. when a 42-year-old from Douglas driving a Chrysler sedan was driving southbound in the northbound lanes. He collided with a 57-year-old driver from Worcester in a Mazda SUV.
Route 146 was closed for almost three hours after the crash due to the emergency response and investigation.

"Due to the severity of the injuries to the operator of the Chrysler, LifeFlight was dispatched and responded to the scene. That operator was transported to UMass Lakeside Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries," state police said in a news release.
The driver from Worcester suffered minor injuries, state police said. State police had not as of Monday morning released the identity of the Douglas driver.
