MA School Among Top 10 For Video Game Design In 2026, The Princeton Review Says

The rankings of college programs for game design are based on survey data, academic offerings, faculty credentials and career outcomes.

WORCESTER, MA — A college in Central Massachusetts has been ranked among the top schools in the nation for game design in 2026.

Clark University's Becker School of Design and Technology was ranked among the top 10 game design programs nationwide by The Princeton Review. The school's program appeared at No. 7 on the list of Top 50 Undergraduate Schools for Game Design in 2026.

The school's Master of Fine Arts program was also ranked No. 8 on the Top 25 Graduate Schools for Game Design list.

Both Clark University's graduate and undergraduate programs were ranked third for the Northeast, with New York University (No. 1) and the Rochester Institute of Technology (No. 2) ranking ahead.

Specifically, in the Northeast, two other Massachusetts schools ranked among the top 10 for both graduate and undergraduate game design programs.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute came in at No. 5 for both its undergraduate and graduate programs, and Northeastern University at No. 4 for its graduate program and No. 6 for its undergraduate program, in the region.

The Princeton Review's list of college programs for video game design is based on institutional survey data, including academic offerings in game design, faculty credentials and career outcomes, among other things.

Their faculties are outstanding. Their alumni include many of the industry’s most successful game designers, developers, and entrepreneurs, and their facilities are state-of-the-art."
