Clark University Recognized By State Department As Top Producer Of Gilman Scholars
The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship helps students with limited financial means study or intern abroad.
WORCESTER, MA — A college in Worcester was recognized by a federal agency after many of its students had received the same national scholarship over the years.
Clark University was named a 25-year Top Producer of Gilman Scholars. This comes after a total of 74 Clark University students have recieved the U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship since it was established by Congress in 2001.
It marks Clark University students' success in securing funding through the Gilman Scholarship, which helps students with limited financial means study or intern abroad.

The merit-based scholarships provide up to $5,000 to undergraduate students, funding opportunities that equip the students with international experience, global networks and foreign language skills.

The scholarship is open to U.S. citizen undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year school to participate in study and internship abroad programs worldwide.
The experiences are meant to help advance U.S. economic competitiveness and national security, the school said.
Other New England schools were named as top producers by the State Department. The University of New Hampshire and the University of Rhode Island were among the dozens of schools recognized for the achievement.
