Man Allegedly Points BB Gun at Man, Tries to Pull Off Gold Chain: Police

A man allegedly pointed a realistic looking BB gun at a man and tried to pull off his gold chain.

WORCESTER, MA—

On Saturday, June 25, at 10:22 p.m., Worcester police responded to a Harrington Way address for a report of a person with a gun. A 24-year-old man told police that he walked out of his front door on Harrington Way and was approached by a man who pointed a gun at him, pressing it directly against his body. The suspect tried to rip a gold chain from the victim's neck, but the victim fled and called police from inside his home.

After the assault, the victim said the suspect got into a grey BMW and drove off. After speaking with other witnesses at the scene, police were able to identify the suspect as Beethoven Phadael, 24, 41 William St., Worcester.

Police put out a BOLO for Phadael, and a short time later, state police spotted the BMW get on to 146 south near Quinsigamond Ave. State police stopped the car, and Phadael was at the wheel. Officers found a realistic looking handgun style BB gun wrapped in a black cloth.

The victim was able to positively identify Phadael as the male who attempted to rob him.

Phadael was placed under arrest and charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon as well as Armed Assault with Intent to Rob.
