The man reportedly wouldn't get out of the road, and then threw a brick at the car.

WORCESTER, MA—A man is facing charges after allegedly smashing out a windshield and throwing a brick at a car on Main Street.

Around 11:40 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, police headed to 630 Main St. to deal with a report of malicious mischief. A 55-year-old man told police that he was driving his car in the area and a man was standing in the middle of the road, forcing the victim to come to a stop until he eventually got out of the road.

The man in the road, later identified as Mitchel Archeval, 43, Kelly Square, picked up a brick and hit the driver's side rear quarter of the car. Archeval then walked toward the front and smashed out the windshield. The victim began to drive off but had to stop further down the road for the red light at the intersection of Main Street and Chandler Street. Archeval then ran toward the car and tried to catch up with him while he was in traffic.

Archeval was still at the scene when police arrived and told the officers that he felt that he was almost struck by the vehicle while he was in the road.

Archeval was placed under arrest and charged with Willful and malicious Destruction of Property.
