Driver Facing Charges in Trooper Clardy's Death Gets Court Date
The Webster man facing charges in an accident that killed a Massachusetts State Trooper on the Mass. Pike has a new court date.

MASSACHUSETTS — The Webster man charged with driving into State Trooper Thomas Clardy's vehicle, killing him, has had his initial court hearing pushed back.
David Njuguna, 30, of Webster had his show cause hearing moved, said Worcester District Attorney's office spokesperson Tim Connolly. The Dudley Court clerk’s office allowed the defense's motion to continue the hearing to May 26.
Clardy died after a speeding car crashed into his stationary vehicle during a traffic stop on Wednesday, March 16, on the Mass. Pike in Charlton. Clardy, 44, was pronounced dead later at UMass Medical Center.
Njuguna faces charges of failing to stay within marked lanes, speeding and negligent driving.
The Worcester Telegram and Gazette reports that Njuguna's license was indefinitely suspended after the crash, and that he had his license suspended for 180 days for refusing a breathalyzer test in 2013.
Njuguna remains in a rehabilitation hospital.
