Man Crashes Stolen Truck Into Worcester Police Station

WORCESTER, MA — A Worcester man drove a truck stolen from a local hospital into the downtown police station, authorities said.

The crash happened at around 5 a.m. Saturday. Police said Louis Diamond, 32, of Edwidge Street, stole a truck from St. Vincent's Hospital and then crashed it into a loading bay at the police station near the jail cells.

Police did not immediately say if there was any motive behind the incident. Police said the crash caused "significant" damage to the building, but no one was seriously injured.

Diamond was arrested and charged with larceny of a vehicle, aiding a prisoner in police custody, breaking and entering at night to commit a felony, receiving stolen property, vandalism and negligent operation of a vehicle.
