Man Shot Dead During Alleged Neighbor Dispute on Hamilton Street
A neighbor dispute on Hamilton Street led to a shooting, with one pronounced dead at the hospital.

WORCESTER, MA—A Worcester man is facing charges after a man was shot and killed during an alleged neighbor dispute on Hamilton Monday evening.
On Aug. 22, 2016 at approximately 5:57 p.m., Worcester police responded to the area of 92 Hamilton St. for a report of a shooting. A 24-year-old man lie in the front lawn on his back, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was unconscious and a man was next to him trying to apply pressure to the wound.
Several bystanders pointed to the rear of the building, where police found the later-identified Jacinto Maldonado, Hamilton Street, Worcester, lying chest down on the ground with his arms apart. Maldonado appeared to be waiting for police to approach him. Officers found a firearm on the ground close to him. They placed Maldonado in handcuffs, but he was not under arrest at the time.
Worcester EMS arrived and quickly transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment. At approximately 6:19 p.m, the victim was pronounced deceased. An autopsy will be performed.
Investigators found that there was a neighbor dispute between Maldonado and the victim, and during the argument, the neighbor was shot. At this time Mr. Maldonado was placed under arrest and charged with Aggravated Assault and Battery with the Intent to Cause Serious Bodily Injury.
This investigation is ongoing. It is anticipated that additional charges may be pending. The victim’s name will not be released at this time until all proper notifications have been made to the victim’s family.
