Man Shot in Head in Water Street Parking Lot

Police are investigating a shooting over the weekend.

WORCESTER, MA—A man was shot in the head while putting antifreeze in his car on Water Street over the weekend.

On June 25, around 2:25 a.m., Worcester police responded to the area of Water Street near Grafton Street for a report of a possible gunshot victim.

Officers found a 28-year-old male victim from Worcester in a lot across from 28 Water St. He appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, and was brought to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to an investigation, earlier in the evening, the victim was at a bar on Water Street and left to walk to his car in the Canal Lofts parking lot. He was putting antifreeze in his car when he was approached by a man who pulled out a gun and demanded his wallet. When he handed the wallet over, the suspect fired a gun and then fled.
