Man Stabs Another Above The Eye During Domestic Fight: Arrest Made

A fight escalated into a stabbing, and police have made an arrest.

WORCESTER, MA—A fight that escalated between two men on Saturday morning resulted in one getting stabbed in the face, and now another facing charges.

Around 10:12 a.m. on April 22, police were called to Austin Street, where a 27-year-old had been stabbed above his left eye. He was conscious and alert and transported to the hospital, where he is in good condition. The suspect took off on foot after the fight was over.

Officers on the evening shift were given a description of the suspect, and around 4:11 p.m. an officer spotted that suspect at the Austin Street address where the original fight took place. The officer called his name but the suspect tried to run off. Officers caught up with him, and he was arrested, charged with Assault and Battery, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Malicious Destruction of Property over the Value of $250.00 and Larceny over the Value of $250.00.

The latter charges were the result of an earlier altercation/incident on the same day that involved the suspect, the victim and the victim’s girlfriend. The girlfriend was or is in a relationship with the suspect. Because the suspect is or was in a relationship with the victim's girlfriend, the name is being withheld.

The suspect will be arraigned at the Worcester County District Courthouse on Monday, April 24.
