Mass Pike Bridge Closing Near Worcester For Two Nights: MassDOT

AUBURN, MA — The bridge that carries traffic over Route 12 between the Mass Pike and I-290 will be closed due to construction over two nights this week, according to MassDOT.

The closures will happen on Wednesday and Thursday nights from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. each following morning. This week's work is weather-dependent.

Here are the detours to watch for this week, according to MassDOT:

  • When the I-290 westbound off-ramp to Route 12 (exit 12B) is closed, traffic will be directed to take exit 12A and follow Route 12 southbound to the I-90 on-ramp.
  • When the I-90 ramp to I-395 southbound and I-290 eastbound is closed, traffic will be directed to follow the detour signage to Route 12 southbound in order to access both I-395 southbound and I-290 eastbound.
  • When traveling along Route 12 northbound in the vicinity of the bridge, traffic will be detoured right onto Prospect Street and will need to follow the detour signs in place.
  • When traveling along Route 12 southbound in the vicinity of the bridge, traffic will be detoured left onto Church Street and will need to follow the detour signs in place
