Massive Lizard On The Lam In MA Spotted Again
The 5-foot lizard escaped from its home in Massachusetts nearly two weeks ago.
DOUGLAS, MA — The massive lizard on the lam in Massachusetts was spotted again this week, according to the Massachusetts Environmental Police.
Goose, a water monitor lizard, was spotted in Douglas on Wednesday. He went missing from his home in Webster nearly two weeks ago. A resident snapped a photo of him, but when officers arrived, they could not find him.
This is the second time Goose has been spotted since he left his home in Webster. He was seen in Thompson, CT, on Friday.
Goose is 5 feet long, and authorities say he is an unlicensed pet. It is illegal to own this type of lizard in Massachusetts.
Water monitors are known to travel, climb trees and find water, according to Webster Animal Control. They don’t typically attack humans or pets, but they recommend not approaching the animal.
The Massachusetts Environmental Police said they are working closely with multiple experts to help them locate and capture the animal.
