MassWildlife Will Allow Kids To Stock Trout During School Vacation
The state will hold a series of trout-stocking events over the school vacation week, teaching kids about the ecosystem and local wildlife.
WORCESTER, MA — If you're looking to do something fishy over the school vacation week in Massachusetts, MassWildlife has something for you.
The state agency will hold six trout-stocking events in the state during the vacation week. Kids on vacation — or any member of the public — can attend to learn about the fresh water ecosystem, and dump some buckets of fish into local waterways.
Each spring, the state adds about 500,000 different types of trout to dozens of lakes, ponds and rivers across the Massachusetts. Fishing season runs year-round in some form, but the wider trout season got underway on April 1. Find information about where you can fish and how to get a license on the Fish and Game website.
