Mirick Marks Another Year of Strong Firmwide Participation Through “Mirick Gives Back”

93% of firm employees participated in volunteer projects and giving efforts supporting nonprofits across the region

WORCESTER, Mass., July 15, 2026Mirick, the largest full-service law firm based in Central Massachusetts, has completed its 2026 Mirick Gives Back initiative, with 93% of the firm’s workforce participating in volunteer projects and charitable giving efforts supporting nonprofit organizations across Worcester, MetroWest, and Greater Boston.

Now in its second year, the firmwide community service program engaged 120 team members through 17 volunteer projects, collection drives, and giving efforts benefiting 10 nonprofit organizations focused on food access, housing stability, youth development, veterans’ services, education, and public health.

“Community involvement has long been part of Mirick’s culture, and the strong participation in Mirick Gives Back demonstrates how deeply that commitment is shared across the firm,” said Attorney Paul Foley, chair of the Mirick Gives Back Committee. “Whether they are sorting donations, staffing a food pantry or organizing a school supply drive, our team members consistently make time to support the communities where they live and work.”

Building on its inaugural year, Mirick Gives Back grew in 2026 to support 10 nonprofit organizations, up from eight in 2025, while increasing firmwide participation from 89% to 93%.

Volunteer projects completed through the 2026 initiative included:

  • Walking and running in the Central Massachusetts Heart & Stroke Walk and the Lawyers Have Heart 5K
  • Preparing facilities for summer programming at the Boys & Girls Club of MetroWest through painting, cleaning and organizing projects
  • Supporting food security through Jeremiah’s Inn Annual Food Drive and Bake-a-Cake Program
  • Distributing food at the El Buen Samaritano Food Pantry, serving nearly 300 families
  • Organizing and restocking the Abby’s House thrift store
  • Assembling resources for Project Just Because’s clothing, food and school supply initiatives
  • Supporting veterans at the Veterans Inc. Stand Down event
  • Coordinating a backpack and school supply drive benefiting Friendly House

New this year, Mirick added volunteer opportunities with the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester and Pine Street Inn, where team members assembled hygiene kits for individuals experiencing homelessness.

While Mirick Gives Back is anchored by hands-on volunteer projects each June, the initiative also includes firmwide giving efforts throughout the year. In 2026, a February “SOUPer Bowl” campaign generated food and monetary donations for Friendly House of Worcester, while a March drive collected recreational and educational supplies for Girls Inc. of Worcester’s summer camp programs.

Mirick supports participation by offering employees dedicated volunteer time and organizing a range of opportunities designed to accommodate different schedules, roles and locations. The firm also creates a shared identity around the initiative through Mirick Gives Back T-shirts and internal engagement throughout the program.

The initiative has become an important expression of Mirick’s culture, bringing together attorneys and professional staff across offices and practice areas in support of a common purpose.

“As a firm that has been part of Central Massachusetts for more than a century, we recognize the importance of showing up for the organizations that help our communities thrive,” said Bob Kilroy, Co-Managing Partner at Mirick. “Mirick Gives Back gives our team a meaningful way to do that together, while supporting nonprofits that are doing critical work every day.”
