Mom Concerned That Woman Tried to Take Autistic Son Off School Bus

A Worcester woman reported to police that a stranger tried to take her son off the school bus Tuesday.

WORCESTER — Police are searching for information after a bus driver and Worcester woman reported that a stranger tried to take an autistic child off of a school bus on Tuesday.

Emily Myers Petit of 25 Converse St. was alerted by a school bus driver that a woman had tried to take her three-year-old son Jaxon off of the bus, stating that an uncle told her to do so, reports MassLive Worcester.

Petit is usually waiting for her son at the house, but had been running late. School officials are crediting the bus driver for thinking smart, and not letting the child off the bus.

Petit posted the incident on her Facebook page, noting that police are searching for information and an alert has been posted in police stations throughout the state.
