Most Wanted Sex Offender With Worcester County Ties Captured
The man has extensive ties to Worcester and is the fourth to be arrested of six recent additions to the Most Wanted Sex Offenders list.
Police have arrested a convicted child rapist with ties to Worcester, the latest of the recent additions to the Massachusetts Most Wanted Sex Offenders list to be captured
Miguel Villegas, 48, was arrested Thursday afternoon in New Jersey, Massachusetts State Police said Thursday afternoon. He was wanted for not registering as a Level 3 sex offender for his 2003 conviction in Worcester of sexual assault on a 6-year-old. Villegas has a long criminal record in Massachusetts relating to drugs and violence.

The Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section had information that Villegas might be in the Newark area and contacted the New Jersey State Police Fugitive Task Force, which arrested him at around noon. He will be rendited to Massachusetts for arraignment and to be processed as a sex offender.
