Motorcyclist Suffers Serious Injuries After Crash With Car on Park Ave.
A car and motorcycle crash on Park Ave. sent the driver of the cycle to the hospital.

WORCESTER, MA—A motorcycle driver from New Jersey suffered serious injuries when he collided with a car on Park Ave. on Monday afternoon.
On June 20 at approximately 1:53 p.m., Worcester Police responded to a motor vehicle and motorcycle accident in the area of 28 Park Avenue. Worcester Fire and EMS also responded to the location.
The operator of the motorcycle, a 20-year-old New Jersey resident, received serious injuries. The victim was treated at the scene and transported to a nearby hospital. The victim’s injuries are non-life threatening but he is in serious condition with a chest injury, abrasions and contusions.
Due to the nature of this accident the WPD Crash Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene and took charge of the investigation.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2008 Kia Optima, operated by a 21-year-old Worcester resident, was traveling north on Park Avenue. The operator of the Kia was heading towards Thomas J. Woods Insurance Agency located at 20 Park Avenue. At this time the operator of the 2001 Suzuki SV650 motorcycle was traveling south on Park Avenue. The operator of the Kia turned left into the southbound lane in an effort to enter the parking lot of the insurance agency. The operator of the Kia turned directly into the path of the motorcycle. As a result, the motorcycle impacted the passenger side of the Kia. The impact ejected the motorcycle operator onto the road surface.
The operator of the Kia was uninjured.
This investigation continues to be active. No citations have been issued at this time as the investigators are processing evidence and interviewing witnesses.
