Auburn Home Depot Reopens After Gas Leak Incident
The store was evacuated Tuesday afternoon, and it took about 12 hours for firefighters to contain the leak.

AUBURN, MA — After almost 12 hours working to contain a gas leak, firefighters have left the Route 20 Home Depot.
The Auburn Fire Department reported the leak around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday. The building was evacuated after a propane leak was discovered in the rear of the building, fire officials said.
Fire officials shut down the store overnight and began a controlled burn of the gas at around 6 p.m. The fire department reported at around 7 a.m. Wednesday that all personnel had left the scene.
The Auburn Home Depot store is located along Route 20 near the Oxford town line. The home store shares a plaza with a BJ's Wholesale Club, which remained open during the emergency.
