Students at Mass. Academy Named National Merit Scholars
Two students from the Mass. Academy of Math and Science in Worcester were named as National Merit Scholars.

WORCESTER, MA—The Massachusetts Academy for Math and Sciences is full of brilliant students, but two students in particular have been named as National Merit Scholars by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation Thursday.
According to the foundation that awards the grants, the students are those “judged to have the strongest combination of accomplishments, skills, and potential for success in rigorous college studies.”
Recipients are chosen by a committee of college admission officers and high school counselors. The winners are granted a $2,500 scholarship.

The winner(s) from the Mass. Academy for Math and Sciences:
Amol D. Punjabi, from Northborough, planning to go into the field of applied mathematics
