WORCESTER, MA — One of the candidates in New York City’s high-profile 2025 mayoral race made a stop in Worcester.
Curtis Sliwa, a longtime community activist and founder of the Guardian Angels who ran as the Republican candidate for New York City mayor, paid a visit to the Heart of the Commonwealth earlier this week.
Sliwa, who is also a longtime radio personality in New York City, spoke at the College of the Holy Cross before later stopping at a local diner. He shared images and commentary from the visit on social media.

Sliwa said his talk at Holy Cross focused on challenges facing the current generation, including debt, shifts in the job market driven by AI and “a future that feels harder to reach than it should.”
He said the speech also emphasized “unity over polarization,” adding: “Not tearing each other apart, but standing together and pushing back on anything or anyone holding you down. The American Dream only works if your generation has a real shot at it.”

Following the speech, Sliwa said he stopped at a historic train-car diner, Boulevard Diner, established in 1936. The eatery is open 24 hours, serves breakfast all day and is popular for late-night dining.
"A great diner, awesome food, and a cool vintage feel you just can’t beat," Sliwa wrote in a social media post. "If you’re ever in the area, make sure you stop in. It’s places like this that remind you what makes this country special."
Sliwa ran in New York City’s 2025 mayoral race, ultimately falling short in the contest against Democratic candidates Zohran Mamdani and former governor Andrew Cuomo.
