Pedestrian Killed In Hit And Run With Plow: Worcester Police

Police were looking for a plow driver who allegedly hit a pedestrian and left the scene.

WORCESTER, MA — A man has died after serious injuries he sustained in a hit-and-run crash involving a plow. The 72-year-old was pronounced dead at UMass Medical Center after he was hit in Monday morning on Pleasant Street.

Around 6 a.m., police were called to 1251 Pleasant St., where a pedestrian had been struck by a pickup truck with a plow, with the driver fleeing the scene toward the direction of Paxton.

EMTs from the Worcester Fire Department were already on the scene treating the victim, who was lying in the street. The victim was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

It is the second plow-related fatality in two days. A 60-year-old man in Bedford was struck and killed Sunday night.

Witnesses told police that the man had been walking in the eastbound travel lane on Pleasant Street when he was struck by a dark colored pickup truck with a plow. The truck was heading west toward Paxton.
