Man Shot In Worcester's Vernon Hill Area

WORCESTER, MA — A 19-year-old man was shot Friday morning in the Vernon Hill area of Worcester, police have confirmed. He was in serious condition at a local hospital.

The shooting happened at 11:34 a.m. at 1 Maxwell St. which is near Millbury Street, according to a police spokesman. The victim was sitting on his porch when he was shot.

Police were canvassing the neighborhood with K9 dogs and searching for surveillance camera footage at homes near the scene immediately after the shooting.

The incident was still under investigation late Friday afternoon, and no arrests had been made.
