Police Find A 'Pepsi' Can Of Crack Cocaine: 2 Arrests

Two were arrested after State Police pulled the car over for speeding and allegedly found crack in the car.

NORTHAMPTON, MA—Two are facing drug charges after State Police pulled a car over on Route 91 northbound in Northampton on Wednesday.

At about 6:35 p.m., troopers spotted a 1999 white, Acura TL, making unsafe lane changes and following other vehicles closely. Pulling the car over, they discovered approximately 29 grams of what they believed to be crack cocaine in what appears (from the photo) to have been in a can designed to look like a "Pepsi."

The operator, Brittany Patten, 22, Hardwick, Vermont, and her passenger, Antonio Vergara, 24, Springfield, were placed under arrest for Trafficking in Cocaine and Conspiracy to Violate the Drug Laws. Patten was additionally cited for Speeding and Marked Lanes Violation. Vergara was additionally cited for a Seatbelt Violation and Possession of an Open Container of Marijuana in a Motor Vehicle.

PATTEN and VERGARA were both booked at the State Police Barracks in Northampton where they were held on $10,000.00 bail pending their arraignment today in Northampton District Court.
