CHARLTON, MA — Four people from Vermont led state police on a 50-mile chase Thursday spanning Weston to Charlton.

The incident began around noon when a state trooper tried to pull over an SUV with Vermont plates in the eastbound lanes of the Mass Pike in Weston. The driver never pulled over, and took off speeding from the trooper.

The driver then got on northbound I-95 before turning around and heading south to get back on the Mass Pike. The pursuit only ended in Charlton when state police deployed spikes across the westbound lanes of the Mass Pike.

Two of the four people in the SUV were arrested and charged, although police did not name those charges. The other two passengers are still under investigation, police said.
