Police are seeking the driver involved in a hit and run.

WORCESTER, MA—Police are seeking a driver who allegedly ran over a three-year-old boy's legs and took off on Sunday evening.
On May 21, at approximately 7:40 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of 24 Bellevue St for a report of a hit and run car accident involving a three-year-old victim. The preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle was parked in the street while a passenger was exiting. A blue Mercury Marquis attempted to go around the parked vehicle by going into the opposite lane. A three-year-old boy stepped into the street and was struck by the Marquis.
According to witnesses, the operator of the Marquis stopped on top of the child’s legs and then backed up. A witness approached the vehicle and yelled, “You just hit a small child!” The operator rolled up his window, locked his door and sped away. The Accident Reconstruction Unit processed the scene. The child was transported to the hospital by ambulance. His leg injuries are currently not life-threatening and no bones are believed to be broken.
