Police Suspect These 2 As Worcester Common Art Vandals
Police are looking for the two suspects shown here, suspected of damaging a large piece of art on Worcester Common.
WORCESTER, MA—Police are looking for help from the public to identify two men they think were perhaps involved in smashing and wrecking a stained glass structure on Worcester Common early Monday morning.
On Oct 22 at 8 a.m., police were told that the structure, created by a Pow! Wow! Worcester artist, had been damaged, its frame bent and glass smashed. Detectives believe that the structure may have been vandalized Friday night and then again on Saturday night.
"As is the case with any piece of public art, we understand that vandalism is an unfortunate possibility," Jessica Walsh, Pow! Wow! director, told Patch. "Creating art that is available to all is exactly what makes it vulnerable. We cannot as an artistic community let this fact dictate our projects or methods of expression. We will continue to help create beautiful public art and encourage others to do the same. "
