Ramps Closed This Week On I-290 In Worcester
Some ramps will be closed this week to allow for work on the highway.

WORCESTER, MA—The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has announced that Monday beginning at 11:30 p.m., crews and contractors are starting milling and drainage operations during the off-peak, overnight hours on I-90 (the Massachusetts Turnpike) at the Exit 11 interchange, (Millbury/Worcester), which will mean overnight closures of ramps at this area through the morning of Thursday, June 22. All lanes eastbound and westbound on I-90 will remain open during the overnight ramp work.
The full traffic impacts for these operations are as follows:
· Between 11:30 p.m., Monday, June 19, and 5 a.m., Tuesday, June 20, the I-90 westbound Exit 11 off-ramp will be closed. Traffic looking to exit 1-90 westbound at this location will be directed to follow a detour route that utilizes Exit 10A.
· Between 10 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, and 5:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 21, the I-90 eastbound and westbound Exit 11 on and off-ramps will be closed. Traffic looking to exit or access I-90 westbound and eastbound at this location will be directed to follow a detour route that utilizes Exit 10A.
· Between 10:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 21, and 5:00 a.m., Thursday, June 22, the I-90 eastbound and westbound Exit 11 on and off-ramps will be closed. Traffic looking to exit or access I-90 westbound and eastbound at this location will be directed to follow a detour route that utilizes Exit 10A.
MassDOT encourages travelers to seek alternate routes and be mindful of possible delays, allow extra time to reach their destinations, and devote their full attention to the roadway when traveling through these work zones. Appropriate signage will be in place to guide travelers to the detour routes during these times.
