Severe Thunderstorms In MA: See Timing, Latest Forecast
Severe weather with damaging winds could begin around noon and move west across southern New England.
WORCESTER, MA — A line of potentially dangerous storms will sweep across Massachusetts Friday, and forecasters are warning residents to be on guard for high winds and potential flooding.
A special weather statement Friday morning from the National Weather Service said storms may begin around noon in the Hartford and Springfield areas before moving into Worcester around 2 p.m. Boston and Providence could see action starting around 3 p.m.
The severe weather could last through 6 p.m., according to forecasts.

"Some of these storms may become strong to severe with the main threat being localized damaging straight line wind gusts. While severe weather is possible across the entire region, the greatest risk is across interior Massachusetts and Connecticut," the weather service statement said.
Although high winds and flooding are most likely, the weather service also said there's a low risk of an isolated tornado and hail.
