Shrewsbury Street Lanes Closed Due To Water Main Repair
Drivers in Worcester should avoid Shrewsbury Street heading into downtown, officials said.

WORCESTER, MA — Drivers in Worcester should avoid the western end of Shrewsbury Street on Wednesday due to a water main break, officials said.
A stretch of westbound Shrewsbury Street between Hill and Mulberry streets was closed to allow city crews to repair the water main break, according to the Department of Public Works and Parks.
The eastbound lanes in the area were open, according to DPW&P.

Officials said the repair would likely take most of Wednesday to complete. Residents near the break were completely without water, including the Mount Carmel apartment building and businesses between 56 and 72 Shrewsbury Street.
