National Swim School To Open In Shrewsbury

SHREWSBURY, MA —A national swim school chain is opening soon in Shrewsbury.

Big Blue Swim School will open at 100 Boston Tpke. at White City, according to the business's website. The storefront was formerly home to Party City, which closed in 2024 when the company shuttered all of its stores nationwide.

The school specializes in swim lessons for children from three months old to adults. The business emphasizes building water safety skills and confidence in the pool.

Big Blue Swim School's programs are designed to meet swimmers at different developmental stages, helping them progress at their own pace in a supportive environment.

The facility will feature a heated indoor pool, with lessons available daily.

Big Blue Swim School is part of a growing national brand that has expanded in recent years, with locations across the country. There are three other locations in Massachusetts in Dartmouth, Framingham and Methuen.

It's not yet clear exactly when Big Blue Swim School will open, but the business said it plans to open this summer.
