State Closing Dozens Of Parks Facilities Due To Coronavirus
Campgrounds and visitor centers across Massachusetts shut down on Saturday until at least April.

WORCESTER, MA — If you're practicing social distancing over coronavirus, the outdoors is one of the few places outside the home that's still safe. But now dozens of state park facilities are closing to help temper the spread of COVID-19.
The state Department of Conservation and Recreation on Saturday closed nearly 30 visitor centers, campgrounds, and recreation centers across the state until at least April 1. The closures are required under the emergency declaration made by Gov. Charlie Baker this week.
State parks will remain open even with these closures — for example, you can still climb Mt. Greylock even with its visitor center closed.
