Tracks In Snow Lead Worcester Police To Domestic Assault Arrest

A man wanted for pistol-whipping another man left tracks in the snow on Monday night, police said.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police say they arrested a domestic violence suspect Monday night after following the man's tracks left in fresh snow.

Police went to a home on Plantation Street near 9 p.m. Monday after a man there pointed a gun and pistol-whipped another man. After a getting a description of the assault suspect, police noticed fresh tracks leading to near the intersection of Amesbury and Lincoln streets.

Police spotted a man who fit the description, and moved toward him. The man threw a jacket on the ground, which police said contained a gun. He was also carrying prescription opioids, cocaine and cash, police said.

The suspect's name was not released because of his connection to a domestic violence incident. He was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of possession of a class B substance with intent to distribute and gun law violations.
