WORCESTER, MA — A 44-year-old woman was hospitalized with serious injuries after a tractor-trailer driver hit her as she crossed an I-290 off-ramp early Wednesday morning. According to Worcester police, the tractor-trailer driver was proceeding through a green light at the Grafton Street off-ramp just after midnight when the woman ran across the intersection. The woman, who is from Auburn, suffered head trauma, police said. She was in critical condition at a local hospital. The driver of the tractor-trailer was identified as a 54-year-old man from Gardner. Police did not immediately announce any charges or citations in connection to the collision.
