Traffic Alert: Roads Closed This Weekend for Caribbean Festival
Drivers in Worcester take note of some upcoming closings.
WORCESTER, MA—The Worcester Police Department would like to advise drivers that the Caribbean Festival is taking place in the city on Sunday, Aug. 28, and will impact traffic in the Park Ave area between Chandler and Salisbury Streets.
Beginning at 1:00 p.m., Park Ave in this area will be temporarily closed for a short time for the event parade. However, officers will be conducting intermittent traffic control across Park Ave.
Detours and heavy pedestrian traffic will take place in the area of Institute Park during the hours of noon to 7 p.m.
Worcester police are asking drivers to be patient during the events and to be alert for pedestrians on the road.
