Trooper Helps Save Geese Who Wandered Onto Interstate
A state trooper jumped to the rescue to help a flock of geese who found themselves in traffic on I-290 Friday morning.
WORCESTER, MA—A flock of geese found themselves in trouble on Friday morning when they wandered onto a busy highway. At 10:45 a.m., Massachusetts State Police got a report that the geese were in the roadway on I-290 near exit 20 (Lincoln Street/Burncoat Street exit).
Unfortunately, some of the geese had already been struck and killed by passing traffic before police arrived, said a spokesperson for the Massachusetts State Police.
A trooper helped get the other geese off the road, and one that was injured but survived was moved to the grassy area off the breakdown lane. The Massachusetts Wildlife Department was contacted to respond to aid the injured goose.
