Two Teens in Serious Condition After Their Moped Crashes Into a Car

Two teens were driving a moped in Worcester when they allegedly drove into the side of a vehicle.

WORCESTER, MA—Two teens on a moped slammed into a car on Aetna Street in Worcester, leaving them both with injuries, say police.

On Thursday, Aug. 18, around 12:20 p.m., Worcester Police responded to the area of 30 Mendon St. for a report of a motor vehicle crash with injury. Police saw a Nissan Altima with extensive damage to the passenger side, and identified the driver as Lauren Neff, 43, Southbridge.

Neff told police that she was driving north on Aetna Street when a moped drove into the passenger side of her vehicle, and there were two young men on the moped. Before police got there, someone in a tan or gold Dodge Durango picked them up to bring them to the hospital.

A short time later, police received a report that the two males from the moped were both at a local hospital in serious condition.

The moped traveled east on Mendon Street, and unable to stop, hitting the Nissan, which was traveling north on Aetna Street. Officers checked at the hospital, and learned that both boys on the moped were 16, and being treated for head injuries and ulcerated liver.
