WORCESTER, MA — UMass Chan Medical School has been named one of The Boston Globe’s Top Places to Work in Massachusetts for a third year in a row.

UMass Chan is the only institution of higher education in the commonwealth to be included on the 2024 list.

UMass Chan was designated a “DEI champion” for the visibility of its commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion that is shared throughout the organization.

“This recognition as the only higher education organization named a Top Place to Work—for the third straight year—and a DEI champion reflects the dedication and collaboration of the UMass Chan community. Together, we are building a welcoming, inclusive culture that advances our mission and underscores our employees’ commitment to sustaining UMass Chan as a special destination for education, biomedical research and public service,” UMass Chan Medical Chancellor Michael F. Collins said in a statement.

The Boston Globe’s annual list is based on feedback from employees gathered in June via a confidential employee engagement survey administered by Energage, an independent company specializing in employee engagement and retention. Thousands of UMass Chan faculty and staff members completed the survey.

The 2024 Top Places to Work list is online now and will be featured in this weekend’s Boston Sunday Globe Magazine.
