WORCESTER, MA — Welcome to the end of a long, chaotic, upsetting week — and it's only the first one of 2021.
In Worcester, the UMass Memorial healthcare system — which operates hospitals in Worcester, Marlborough and Leominster — is investigating whether one of its employees was present at the violent Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Dozens of people from across the country have been arrested in connection to the riot, including a 33-year-old Pittsfield man. Multiple people identified on social media have also been fired or forced to resign from jobs, including a Pennsylvania lawmaker and a Chicago CEO.

The robbery happened around 8 p.m. Thursday, and the two perpetrators were able to get away, according to the police log.
