WATCH THIS: Local Kid Fronts Green Day In Worcester
This boy had the time of his life getting called to join his favorite band on stage.
WORCESTER, MA — On Friday, "Grant from Worcester" was probably excited enough to see what clearly is his favorite band, Green Day, headlining downtown at the DCU Centre.
He probably never expected that he'd get called onstage by frontman Billy Joe Armstrong to front the punk superstars with Armstrong's guitar.
Video of the young fan with dyed green hair, reportedly from Rutland, is circulating social media, and reported by several media outlets. WAAF reported that Grant got a signed guitar from the band following the show.
The boy was one of three kids pulled up on stage during the show, reports Worcester Telegram and Gazette's Craig Semon, who writes, "For those who spent nearly 2½ hours listening to Green Day's singer-songwriter-guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong 'whine about nothing and everything all at once,' they were rewarded with a high-energy, career-spanning main set, featuring 24 explosive songs (some of which had actual, ear-popping explosions), plus a pair of two-song encores that were, alone, worth the price of admission."

Grant takes guitar lessons at E.L. Music, and as owner Matt Robbins posted on the store's Facebook page, "It couldn't have happened to a nicer kid."
