Woman Ejected In Fatal Route 112 Crash

The driver suffered serious injuries while the passenger died after being thrown from the vehicle.

HUNTINGTON, MA — A Wednesday night crash in Western Mass. killed a Montgomery woman who was thrown from her vehicle, State Police said Thursday morning.

Police said a 2000 Ford F250 pickup being driven by a 42-year-old Montgomery man had driven from Route 112 South into the northbound side, then off the road and into the woods. The crash trapped the driver and ejected the passenger.

The passenger, 30-year-old Melinda Carriveau was pronounced dead at Baystate Noble Hospital in Westfield.

The driver was transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield with serious injuries.

Route 112 was closed for three hours.
